![]() It has been a true treat getting to meet all of them and see what they are like up close and personal. They are always available to do post-game interviews, even if it’s with some 18-year-old kid pestering them with nothing but an iPhone and a notebook. The team themselves are a great bunch of guys too. He found out who I was and gave me the opportunity to further my career with the team. ![]() One of those people has been Jonathan Greene, the communications manager for the team. It has helped me learn so much about what to do as a journalist and has helped me meet some very fine people. Here are a few things I’m thankful to them for:īeing able to cover for the Sockers has opened up many doors for a future in sports journalism. Naturally, I took them up on the offer and I’ve gotten a new appreciation for the team, and indoor soccer in general. Wasn’t I surprised when the San Diego Sockers sent me a direct message on Twitter asking if I wanted a media pass to cover their games? After getting this opportunity to write for East Village Times, I thought I was all set.
